My mother nodded slowly. “All right I’ll do my best. I would go downstairs now and as soon as the ceremony in the second hall was over, I would approach him and make my demands.” I hugged my mother tightly and watched her walk out of the room. My father placed a kiss on my forehead and walked out right behind her. I knew he wasn’t going to go with her to meet Gerald but then I didn’t need him. All he had to do was wait in a corner and not interrupt any of my plans.
