Rooftop
She’s been awake for more than an hour but couldn’t find the strength to get out of bed. She couldn’t even take off the itchy jeans she slept in. Somehow, her eyes were glued to the globe chandelier as she hugged a pillow to her chest.
This sluggishness and impediment were because of Dominic’s abrupt text message. She never knew how affected she’d be by just a simple text. It was just a text—she kept telling herself.
If it was just a text, why couldn’t she get up to freshen up? Why couldn’t she unpack? Why couldn’t she even get up and go check on breakfast?
She sighed and tossed the pillow across the bed as she rolled to her side. Her eyes caught sight of her phone lying in the side drawer. She groaned softly and closed her eyes. If she did not need that phone, she would’ve thrown it away because it reminded her of Dominic. He bought it for her just a few weeks before she moved to his pack. Now she was left with his mocking memories.
