Amelia’s POV

I stumbled out of the room, my lips still tingling from the kiss I had just shared with Mason. What have I done? I scolded myself, feeling guilty and confused. I knew that I shouldn’t have kissed him, but I couldn’t resist the temptation.

The night was still fresh, but I had nothing else to do, so I decided to sleep early.

As I lay in bed, I felt a strange presence around me. It was the chief ancestor of our pack, and he had come to me with a message.

“I saw that you are in so much pain and grievance, so I came here to make you feel better by telling you the secret behind your misfortune,” the chief ancestor said.

“What secret? It was quite evident that Mason killed both of my parents so that he could become the Alpha. What other secret is there to be known?” I asked.

“As I said, I came here to explain why Mason had been sent to your pack,” he repeated, and I just listened this time instead of questioning him.
