Chapter 131

BELLA

I felt a thrill through me as we stood in front of the door. Scarlet stayed behind us, watching with her gaze fixed on me. She could tell I was the one spearheading everything. Had it not been for my decision to return to the kingdom, my mates wouldn't have done that. “Thank you, my queen,” she whispered, smiling gratefully at me as she pressed the wound on her abdomen. She didn't look to be in much pain. At least not how it was when she rushed towards us. 

“That's the least I can do.” For a kingdom that chose the worst possible moment to call us back. If only they had a little patience. Tomorrow didn't seem to be a bad time. 

A knock on our front door caused me to turn, frowning as I exchanged looks with my mates, who didn't look surprised by the knock. I could tell they were expecting whoever was at the other end. 

“She's here,” Fred said, turning his gaze towards the kitchen door as the front door opened. 

“Who?”

“Me.”
