Chapter 138

BELLA

Da Ankora, surprisingly didn't come over to gloat like Blue thought he was. He came over because of me. He was worried I would get overwhelmed by my second being, which wasn't fully awake. I haven't been able to change into my wolf form despite how many times I tried that. My mates assumed it had something to do with my witch blood, but Da Ankora wasn't convinced. He was afraid my powers might spiral out of control if I didn't harness them, something he didn't even know how we would go about it. 

Before leaving, he promised to check on me every chance he got, but not without reminding me to be careful, and not to stress myself because of the baby in my womb. 

Throughout his visit, Blue kept his gaze averted, still thinking Da Ankora would remind them of their vows never to return to their kingdom, but he didn't do that. Either he knew Blue expected that from him or he wanted to toy with him. For either reason, he mentioned nothing until he left.
