“What are you doing with that?” I stared at the syringe. “What do you propose to do with it?” I glared at him, trying not to panic. 

“What do you think I intend to do with it?” He grinned, looking amused as he leaned towards me. “Do you know how long I have planned this? Ever since they destroyed my doppelgänger, thinking I was the one.” He chuckled. “It's fun to play with them.”

“Fun to play with them? Look, guy, if you have any problems with them, you can talk it out with either of them or one. Why will you drag me into a feud I didn't cause?” 

“Why?” He squatted in front of me and placed his right hand on my left thigh. “No one is dragging you into this, darling. You entered the game yourself.”

“What?”

He didn't respond as he got to his feet and flicked the syringe, grinning. “I don't know the side effects of this, but I know what I want it to do.”

My heart jumped into my throat as he brought the syringe forward. I gulped,
