Chapter 118

Upon awakening, Scarlett found herself in a dimly lit room, struggling to see anything at all. She was unable to recall what had brought her to this moment, yet she was certain that something had occurred. What brought her here? Where could Zachary be? 

When she thought of his name, memories flooded back into her mind. She raised herself into a sitting position. He performed an action that caused her to lose consciousness. He aimed to have her subdued, so he rendered her unconscious. 

She dashed out of bed and headed for the door, which she could discern even with her limited sight. She struck it forcefully, with all her strength, and the sound reverberated back to her. A corridor was beyond the entrance, the reverberation indicated it was vacant. 

"Unlock the door. Is there anyone out there? She inquired, grappling with the doorknob, yet it was secured. She pounded on the door repeatedly when there was no response. 

"Release me from this place!
