With a lump in my throat, I managed to smile at her, “Mercy, I know but I believe that you know my condition, and besides Kian had me locked up so meeting the king is going to make him suspect that I might have sneaked out from my room,” I said, giving her thousands of reasons why I shouldn’t meet him.
“So what next?” She asked.
“Fine, go tell him that I am not around… That you’re unable to find me anywhere around the pack.”
Not long after I had finished speaking, I heard a surprised voice that had me trembling from where I was standing. “Are you now teaching your maid how to lie?”
I gulped hard, “Dae… King Daemon,” I stammered as Mercy stepped aside for him to walk in. Swallowing the big lump that has formed at my throat as I watched him stride forward with so much arrogance, his aura stretching out demanding submission.
I held onto my breath as I can feel my palms begin to sweat, his face has an expressionless mask on
