Chapter 174. Slightly Out of Control

“I wish to speak with you!” Alexa said to Hector after their meal and Mildred took the pups upstairs to their room to prepare them for bed. She enjoyed staying with them. It more than compensated for the time she missed with her own daughter Alexa.

“Come into my study then!” he said, leading the way.

“I am happy that everything went well with the meeting of the clan heads today and I pray for a successful Press Conference tomorrow,” Alexa started. Hector nodded.

Alexa chose her words carefully. “I saw your parents walking the garden this afternoon and I hope they were able to put aside their differences and forge ahead,” she said.

“Thank you. I appreciate your good wishes. To tell the truth, I hope so too,” he replied, sighing. “I don’t really blame mother for still being furious with him. I was too, with him, that is but I have decided to let it go. If I hadn’t had support, who knows what I would have done to my own family in the name of upholding tradition
