Chapter 143. Against the Clock

Chris pats her back gently but somewhere in Lara’s heart feels bad for Chris, she’s using him for her selfish desires but she needs someone, someone she can trust her kids with, now that things are getting more dangerous, she can’t afford to lose him.

“Chris, you’re killing me, I... can’t...breath,” Lara gasps for breath as soon as Chris releases her from his tight embrace. A huge smile not leaving his face, “I’ll go prepare dinner, while you go rest.”

He pushes her up the stairs, halting on her steps, facing him, “is this a bride or peace dinner?” she folds her arms to her chest, Chris with a goofy smile on his face, “both.”

Heading up the stairs to her room, she flops on her bed, a couple of missed calls from Carter, she rings him up.

“Took you long enough to call him,” she scoffs at his words.
