Chapter 43. Oxygen
Disgust churns in Lara's stomach as she replays the conversation with Rose in her mind. Marrying an older, impotent man solely for the sake of bearing his child is like a betrayal of everything she stands for, isn’t it?
She paced around restlessly for a while, before sitting down on her bed. Her room is unkept, clothes, empty bottles of wine and milk, as well as leftover pizza left in a tray are littered all over. Rose has sacked all the cleaners, except two, to ease up the financial burden of maintaining the estate. Now it took more time to get her room fixed, because she would do it herself. But she won’t.
