“Liam, I know my own illness. There’s no need to waste that money. Save it for Lucy and Ray.”
Mother Janice’s pale, gaunt face was filled with a kind smile, but her eyes were dim.
No one wants to die, and no one is an exception.
Even though Liam, Lucy, and even the doctors had kept the true condition from her, not letting her know the real diagnosis, Janice had a vague suspicion that it wasn’t a good illness.
The blood she coughed up before being admitted to the hospital was the best proof.
In this situation, treatment might not be effective. Often, it’s just a waste of money. It would be better to give up and leave the money for her descendants.
This is the thought of every normal parent, and Janice was no exception.
“Mom, listen to what you’re saying. It’s not a serious illness; it just takes a bit longer to recover. And you know our family’s situation, spending some money is no big deal. Your son has the money.”
