There was no warning that came after Lana said those words, only River’s hands sweeping her off her feet as he carried her over his shoulder effortlessly. Lana let out a startled yelp as she was afraid of him dropping her but she could feel his firm muscles against her skin and that was enough for her to calm herself down.
