Chapter 164. Pretty Lies, Ugly Lies

It was quiet for a few seconds, and Selena could feel the tension thick in the air. So thick that it felt like it was slowly stealing all the oxygen from the space. She wanted to say something, she wanted to do something.

But at the same time, she did not want to make things worse. So she just waited for the beta to say something or to save himself from what he had just done.

“What are you talking about?” The alpha asked, folding his arms across his chest. He locked eyes with the beta, waiting for the guy to respond.

Leon took in a deep breath before exhaling deeply. “Um…we took your mom out of town. She just needed some time alone, but now that she’s fine. She’s staying with a friend.”

He scoffed. “Of course she would do something like this.” He unfolded his arms from his chest and shook his head. “Do I know this friend?” He asked.

“No,” The beta replied. “I don’t think you do. And even if you do, she made us promise not to tell you who it was.”
