Chapter 38. A Side Mission

Selena pulled on her hair as she paced the room, trying to come up with a decision. But she knew, she knew that with each passing second, she was wasting time. Precious time that she didn’t have much of.

Her heart was racing, she could hear it so clearly in the quiet room. With each step she took, her anxiety only got worse.

Then she finally stopped, breathing deeply as she stared out the window into the night. Was she really going to risk the chance of never seeing her little sister again?

But again, going to see her would be risking her life. If Elijah catches her, it would be over. The little girl’s life would be over.

Gosh, Selena hated how indecisive of a person she was. It was a part of her that she didn’t like, along with a list of other things.

In her head, she could hear Lily’s voice; memories of the little girl played in her head like a record and she then finally decided what she was going to do. She was going to go.

She knew that if he
