Chapter 39. Seeing Lily

Selena’s heart was pounding and she was sweating and hot even though the air of the hospital was cold. She followed her mom while the beta was right next to them.

She was glad that she wasn’t alone, but knowing that Elijah was in the same building and the chances of him finding out she’s here made her sick to her stomach.

“Just stay calm, okay? Elijah isn’t working on the same floor as Lily, he is just above us. I mean, there is a chance he might come in to check on her but we are going to be very careful, so don’t worry.” Her mom flashed her a smile after the words of encouragement.

Selena nodded, smiling back, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes. She was riddled with anxiety, her heart feeling like it was going to explode at any second from how hard it was beating.
