Alex POV

“You look gorgeous,” I said, kissing her shoulders.

“I’m nervous,” she replied, rubbing her hands.

“I’ll be there with you. If this wasn’t a meeting with your family, we would have skipped it and stayed in bed.”

“So why can’t we?”

“No, Stormy. We promised them.”

She pouted.

I laughed and stroked her cheeks. She was so beautiful. She didn’t know it yet, but I took a picture of her while she slept and saved it as my lock screen.

“Everything will be fine. You still want to learn more about your Mother, right?”

She nodded.

“Your grandmother looks like she’s eager to get to know you.”

“I see that, Alex. It’s just too much for me. A whole new family. I still don’t have closure with my last one.”

“Okay, I see that.”

“Reid… he just left.”

“He betrayed you, Stormy. Why are you even talking about him?” I scoffed.

Reid wasn’t worth her tears or her time. He took the money when Sa
