Stormy POV

“I don’t think so. I’ve got an appointment to get to,” I said quickly.

I tried to walk around her, but Ashley grabbed my shoulders and brought me back to stand in front of her. I hadn't seen her in so long. There was a lot I wanted to talk to her about. These were different circumstances, though. Ashley was a reminder of my former life and a reflection of how far I'd moved on from it.

“You’re really going to brush me off?”

“I told you I’m busy, Ashley. Should you have left Reid alone?”

She scoffed. “Imagine that. I should be making sure your boyfriend’s wolves don’t slaughter him, but I’m here trying to warn you!”

“Warn me about what?” I crossed my arms.

She let out a shaky breath. “We’re out in the open. Can we talk for five minutes?”

The people inside the candle store were staring at us. I didn’t want to cause a scene, but I was wary about this.

“I saw a park on my way here,” Ashley said.
