Stormy POV
“He’s not going to stay like this forever, right?” I asked, Tristan.
I wanted to tell Alex would shift back at any moment, but he was freaking out. He clutched his phone and paced the backyard in random directions. Emery watched him with worry in her eyes.
They came as soon as I got off the phone with Tristan.
I caressed wolf Alex’s fur. The wolf wasn’t hostile, which was good. He stared straight ahead. He shifted and placed his head between his front legs.
“You can shift, Alex. You can do it.”
Emery knelt beside us. “You’re better than this, Alpha Alex.”
The wolf didn’t respond or move his head to acknowledge us. I’d been dreading this since I learned he had a wolf defect. I just thought we had more time.
“Should we call Lettie?” I asked.
“Alex has known that bitch for years. If she could help him, she would have done it a long time ago!” Tristan yelled.
He continued pacing.
