“How the fuck do you expect me to keep this from her father?” I threw my hands up, a sudden tense and almost palpable silence taking over. None of the men dared looked at me as my mind raced. I tried keeping my emotions in check, one wrong move and Scar would come running if she sensed any iota of feverish disquietude through the bond.

It had been weeks after our official bonding. We still didn’t have answers about why my people had uncontrollably shifted that night.
