Scarlett’s POV
“I’m telling you Jaxon is hiding something. Hell, I feel like everyone is avoiding me.” I puffed out air loudly, shaking my head at Astra’s stubbornness. We had been going back and forth between Jaxon keeping a secret and Astra telling me that I was over thinking.
“And I am telling you that you’re being paranoid for utterly nothing.” I almost pulled my hair off my throbbing head. I couldn’t shake the odd feeling that something serious was going on in the pack. Jaxon rarely stayed home and when he did, he would spent his time at the home office. He insisted he had a lot of papers to go through and sign. I bought his story until a whole week went by and the brushing off from him only increased.
“Astra, he is my mate and yet he rarely even glances my way. His walls are up, I can’t hear his thoughts, and I can’t feel his emotions. He’s…” The words jammed in my throat, a lump blocking my voice.
