Book 1: Proving the Mate Bond

Lena's POV

A strong male scent around me made me stir. Where was I? Did they throw me into the dungeons? Suddenly, memories came rushing in and I opened my eyes with a start. I looked around frantically, trying to remember what had happened earlier. How did I land up on a stranger’s bed? This wasn’t the dungeon!

Then I remembered everything vividly. We had lost! I was captured by the enemy who dumped me in prison, wanting to know my parents’ whereabouts. Didn’t he know I was born an orphan with no clue who my parents were?

I remembered the way he had a sudden change of heart and rescued me from his prison, fed me, and tended to my wounds. I had seen the remorse in his eyes earlier. Was the creature bipolar or what? As if he wasn’t responsible for what I had to go through! It was so difficult to understand him and his motives. I didn’t want to stay here to find out. I would surely escape before he throws me back into the dungeons.
