Book 2: Chaos in Wrigley
Felixe’s POV
Dan opened the door to grab hold of the intruder while I sprang to help him. There was no time to ponder over his resemblance to my mother. I rushed after Dan, but the stranger was nowhere in sight.
“Where did he go? Wasn’t he here a second ago?” I got down the steps and trudged around the trailer, but it seemed he had vanished into the air.
Paul woke up too and stood on the steps when Dan pointed at a dark shadow speeding away in the distance.
“There he is.” It was difficult to chase him in the blizzard. We watched him disappear from view and returned to the sanctity of the trailer.
“I’ll keep watch in case he returns,” offered Dan. We sat on our bunk beds, but all sleep had left us already.
“Who was it? Alpha Ambrose’s spy?” asked Paul, but I shook my head. Alpha Ambrose’s spies didn’t work this stealthily. They always launched a vicious attack.
