Chapter 38

Danica’s POV

She made the hours of waiting a fucking joke. I barely had any time to monitor my patient’s progress because she made me do several other tasks that weren’t even meant for a trial student who had just completed her last surgery and was waiting for a good result.

Then the patient’s guardian came to visit at her usual time. I knew that much because I’ve seen her here a few times during the last week but she suddenly threw a fit, asking for her mate when she didn’t find him in his ward.

I mean, did she forget so quickly that she signed a surgery consent form? The sudden drama was definitely beyond me. I simply shrugged as I sneaked back into the intensive care unit, checking out for changes in the patient.

Wolves with dying mates really are energetic, aren’t they? I mean, I could hear her voice audibly from here. Probably everyone at the clinic could too.

The first thing I picked up amidst her yells were ‘I NEVER GAVE A SURGERY CONSENT!
