William’s POV
When I found out about Scarlett, I took the first flight to Milan. I felt strange about what had happened with my father, but I tried not to dwell on it.
After learning about Scarlett’s situation, I became worried. I didn’t know what attitude she would take when I arrived home or how she would react when she saw me. I had turned off my phone so that no one would disturb me while I was dealing with canceling the contract I had with Mérida.
Then, I was busy with my father’s situation, and I needed to go see how they were taking him into custody. I couldn’t have stayed at ease if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes. It felt like a kind of moral duty. I don’t know, but it seemed like I had completely forgotten the true meaning of life. I chose to see my father, calm my mother, and inform her that I would proceed with her divorce. She didn’t complain, but she cried inconsolably when she found out what had happened to my brother.
