Chapter 28. Farida's Pregnancy

Moses sat down next to Alfred.

"What are you doing up so early, my friend? Has some trouble taken your sleep?" He asked noticing the dark circles under the doctor's eyes.

"Moses... There is no other way to tell you this... Then I'll come straight to the point. I am afraid Farida is suspicious that I am not you." He said dejectedly for he loved her. "She is likely to have me beheaded if she is sure that she is being deceived."

Moses didn't know what to think with that information. Eliza was not a docile woman. She would have made a fuss by now if she had suspected anything...

"What makes you think she's suspicious? Did she say anything?"

"No. She just said she loved me and couldn't live without me. She said it thoughtfully. As if something was going through her head. Worst of all, I must confess, I love her too. And these moments I spend with her are the most precious of my life. I am
