Chapter 31. Insanity?
Upon arriving in his kingdom, Moses did not see the beast, but he could feel its invisible presence. He accompanied his concubines to the castle they inhabited, kissed each one on the forehead, and then went to his palace.
It was already dark and he went straight to his chamber. He did not wish to see even Alfredo, let alone Eliza. He could not say what he felt to anyone, but after his refusal tonight, an emptiness entered and invaded his whole being, as if something was missing to fill it.
He knew that if he said that to his concubines, they would soon link his emptiness to his renunciation of becoming a god. For he himself did not believe that.
It was a very complicated choice. He felt that the beast was trying to see him away from Afhany and as much as he wanted to know the real intentions of the beast, Liã and Tolar, because he had no doubt that his concubine was allied with them, he could not be without Afhany, for another emptiness would take his body.
