Chapter 303. The Mysterious Ring

Mentor woke up feeling the sunlight on his face. The maid was in her chambers and had opened the curtain. Mentor sat up in bed and smelled the scent of the woman he loved.

He believed this meant that she had regained her strength and was awake. He threw the covers to one side and began to change, not bothering with the surprised shout that the maid gave and then ran out of the room.

He changed, already imagining that someone would soon let him know, or give him news about Mary, perhaps Calisto herself. He missed Calisto too.

He finished dressing and went downstairs. As usual, his family and Liã were already gathered around the table, just waiting for his arrival.
