Chapter 357. The Guest Pantry
They turned so many times in other corridors that Mary suspected she would be unable to find her way back on her own. They stopped in front of the nursery protected by malleable glass. The nurse left her alone and, entering the pediatric ward, took one of the babies out of the incubator and brought him to the glass. Mary noticed that he was wearing blue clothes. It was one of the boys. Mary put out her hand and when she touched him through the glass, she could feel the softness of his skin without infecting the baby. He was small and very beautiful. The nurse took him back and brought the others in one by one.
Mary was delighted with the girl. She was the only one who already had hair, and not a little.
After showing Mary the babies and allowing her to touch each one, she took her back through the corridors and they reached Bella's room. She was still asleep. Mary stood, not knowing what to do next.
