Chapter 66. Pharaoh's Proposal
Don João was sitting at the table, waiting for Pharaoh to serve dinner.
He knew, from the many dishes, that the concubines would share that meal.
Don John felt more and more hatred for Pharaoh. He understood that Moses was giving him many reasons to try to overthrow him from the throne and now that his grandson was already three years old it would be much easier to take him into captivity.
He had a lot of time to think and considered that it would be better not to keep the child in his castle. Don John feared that someone living there would decide to denounce him to Pharaoh.
When Moses sat down at the table, only Matheus, Serena, Eliza, and the doctor joined them.
The concubines passed by but went to another wing of the palace.
Dom João found it strange and waited for Pharaoh to explain, but he said nothing and started eating as soon as they were served.
After a while, when all they heard was the clink of cutlery, Moses turned to Don Jo
