Chapter 64. Confession (1)

Alpha King Damien stood up and walked out, ready to search for the woman. When he looked to the other side, he saw her sitting beside the bonfire with Madden by her side, smiling at him. A faint dimple, which he never knew she had, could be seen on her fair cheeks, and that was enough to put him on edge again.

So, she was never happy when she was with him, or why would she not smile that way?

“Your Majesty.” The guards who saw him bowed, but he didn’t even glance at them as his gaze was on the girl, whose smile faded as soon as she heard his name.

“Good morning, Your Majesty.” Madden smiled as he stood up, while the girl continued sitting and averted her gaze from him.

Clearing his throat, he gave them the order. “Go and prepare; we will be leaving in the next ten minutes.”

“What?” The men were slightly shocked but then nodded as they stopped whatever they were doing. Some went to get the horses ready, while the others started to dismantle the camp.
