Anacá's POV
“Oh, I’m sorry!” I tried to step backward, in case he had other ideas. I might still be his wife, but I wasn’t taking advantage of my situation.
I was here for work and intended to stick to my business.
His fingers gripped my arm to stop me from moving away. “I’m not. What the f*ck are you wearing?” His gaze swept over me, taking in my old clothes. What could I do? I hadn’t found the time to buy new clothes. Maybe I would with my first salary.
“Why? What’s wrong with them? You can throw me out if you don’t like them.” He stared at me briefly before releasing me and walking away to his desk.
“That won’t happen, Anacá. We will buy you appropriate clothes on behalf of the company.”
I gaped at the insolent guy. “But I don’t need your charity. I can buy my own clothes.”
