“Killian cannot be trusted. For years, he has been waiting for an opportunity to strike and destroy us. Dad left no loophole for Killian to succeed in his evil plan. But everything changed when you escaped and landed in his clutches. Dad went crazy to rescue you from him, but it wasn’t easy. He’s too shrewd. Each time, he was always ten steps ahead of us.” Louis gasped for breath, and Laurence gave him some water. 

I stood frozen, unable to think straight. I no longer knew what to believe. “Was that the reason Dad tried to kill both of us? He tried torching our wedding venue and home, Louis.”
