Sydney's POV
I could feel Killian’s hesitation, his need to talk to me. But he left without opening up. I wondered what he wanted to say! When would he trust me enough, like couples do? It seemed I was his wife in name only. He didn’t need me in his life.
Then why did he marry me?
Nothing felt like before. Just as I had expected, Killian changed the moment we set foot in LA. He resumed his ways, spending more time at his office than with me. I hated LA. Our relationship always soured here. With so many guards, his house seemed more like a prison than a home.
Fiona arrived to make dinner for us, and I helped her half-heartedly. At least I had someone to talk to.
After she left, I waited for Killian, but in vain. My calls went unanswered. What was going on? I called Emilia instead.
“Hi, Emilia! What are you doing? Has Tony come home? Killian hasn’t, and I’m worried.”
