Sydney's POV
I rested my head against his shoulder, my heart pounding with need. My head still reeled from his heated confession.
He loved me! Killian loved me!
It was all I could think about.
“I’ve waited so long for this. I can’t believe you’re mine again.” His voice was a mix of gravel and velvet, the sound setting a flutter in my stomach. It had been so long since he had made love to me. Did he love me then? Was that the actual reason for marrying me?
“I was always yours, Killian. Even when I was away from you, not once did I stop loving you.” It was the absolute truth, although I was in denial for a year. I was too hurt to acknowledge it, pushing myself to achieve the impossible.
