Book 5: A Conspiracy?

“I’m Officer Stewart from the LAPD, Crime Branch. We need a statement, Mr. Laurier.” The police officer in charge of the investigation sat down to record Maddox’s statement. It had been an hour since he had returned home from the hospital, and now he had to cope with the cops. 

Thankfully, Camille had stayed back at his house to look after him. Thankfully, she hadn’t insisted on taking him to their parents’ house instead. He didn’t want to see Lucille’s fake act. He knew she was the culprit. Therefore, he would deal with her only when he had the proof. He was now curious to know what had happened that night. How did he end up without his clothes? What did Lucille do to him?

“Fine.” He repeated the trauma he went through. The cop listened intently and recorded his statement. 

“Who do you suspect, Mr. Laurier?” The officer rose to collect his evidence.

“No one as yet. I want you to find out, officer.” Maddox didn’t want to drag the family goodwill down
