Chapter 52. Illusion

Azeeva grabbed Alex’s hand but refused to close her eyes. The growing doubts made Zee stay awake and stare at the advisor as deeply as she could in search of reassurance.

Zee examined what she needed to be sure about her powers. How would Alex help her save her father, and why must she be taken to the void dimension? Wasn’t an empty dimension, which is a place for soul control?

“Why does it have to be this place?” Zee released her hand from Alex’s grip. She was repeating the question, nagging at the back of her mind.

“Are you going to control my soul? Will controlling my soul help save my father? How exactly? How? Tell me so I can feel your belief!”

Alex just stared at Zee with an increasingly mysterious gaze. The more he remained silent, the more Zee was convinced that something was wrong.

“There will always be sacrifices for every wish. You must give your blood if you want your father to be safe. Not much, just one jug.” Zee narrowed her eyes at Alex.
