Chapter 98. Find the Light
Third-Person POV
For weeks, Azeeva lay in bed. It was as if her body was glued to the mattress. From sunrise to sunset, Azeeva moved if she wanted to relieve herself. She most often lay on her side. She stared out the window at the square roofs of tall, stone buildings typical of modern Greece. The faint sounds of street music could be heard.
Azeeva’s heart ached. The music reminded her of Althar’s betrayal. Because of him, Azeeva lost her way. The poison Althar injected paralyzed her magic power. Not only that, the bruises and physical wounds during her kidnapping were heartbreaking. Zee was broken inside and out. She waited for his brain to burst. She began to wonder if this was the end she should accept.
Azeeva’s pillow was wet. Madam Jenn got up, and she was not alone. At the beginning of the day and the end of the night, Azeeva always called John Robbert. Azeeva deliberately did not tell him of her plight, fearing that her father would shift his focus.
