Caroline's POV

He looked at me for a moment, speechless and stunned, before he threw his head back with a sigh. "Fine. I guess you deserve to know the truth then," he finally responded. I stared at him patiently. "The truth is, I have a curse and I need my physical contact to escape that phase," he explained, startling me.

I gulped deeply. "Wait, this physical contact, is there a specific person you must share it with? Like me probably?" I asked, but he was quiet.

I parted my lips to ask again, but he finally replied. "my mate," he said, and I was shocked.

He required his mate physically before he could go through his phase. He sighed and shook his head. "I'm sorry to hear you're finding out this way," I raised my hand to stop him before rushing out.
