“It’s been quite a while, Iris,” the voice said. “You finally came back. Welcome!”

“Oh, Adrian, it’s you,” Iris said, adopting a nonchalant attitude, after the initial shock of seeing him so suddenly. “What are you doing here?” she asked.

“I just got back from a business conference,” he said looking at her intensely and she felt uncomfortable.

“Daddy, we came home to look for you!” Laila said, hugging Adrian and smiling up at him.

“Laila, don’t be absurd!” Iris said shocked that Laila could smell that Adrian was her biological father.

“It is not absurd, mother,” Landon said looking at a shocked Adrian with disapproval. “Why did you leave us?” he asked. “Didn’t you want us?”

Adrian was speechless. He had had eye only for Iris that he hadn’t looked around her to see these wonderful children. They were definitely his, he could tell. How could he have missed them when he sighted Iris?

“They are mine, aren’t they?” A
