Chapter 20. An Avalanche of Memories (1)
Adrian’s POV
I had loved my mum, my whole life. I had witnessed her pain as my father showed no consideration whatsoever for her feelings, treated her poorly.
On several occasions I had lashed out at my father, but what could I do against his superior strength, I was just a boy then. I loved him too but because of his treatment of mum, I despised him and myself for being happy that he didn’t come back alive from the war.
I had sworn to avenge my mother, protect her from anybody that wanted to harm her… It was just an irony… a twist of fate that the girl I fell in love with at first sight, happened to be my enemy, my enemy’s daughter.
I recalled how we imprinted that first day with no care in the world and how happy I had felt. Vowing that I was going to treat my mate better than my father treated my mother.
