“Roxy, look very closely at this man sitting on the bed,” Millicent said after taking a deep calming breath. “Who is he to you?”
“He’s my uncle!” she answered, nonchalantly.
“He is your father!” Millicent corrected patiently.
“He’s not my father. My father is dead!” she protested.
“He is your father. Your adopted father is still your father!” Millicent insisted.
“If you say so!” Roxy shrugged.
“Why would you be in the position I saw you with him? Should you be in that position with your father?”
“We were not doing anything wrong!” she protested. “Can I not cozy up to my father? Is it wrong for me to desire to be petted and loved by my parent?”
“Of course not. A child can be cuddled by her parents, there’s nothing wrong in that,” Millicent said, patiently. “But there’s a difference between being cuddled as a child and being caressed as a mate!” Millicent said, refusing to feel foolish or that she was being presumptuous by Roxy’s questio
