While Alpha Christopher was busy trying not to think about Millicent but failing miserably, as he went insane with his need for her, missing her terribly and torturing himself for not being smart enough to know what she had planned and stopping her, Alpha Sylvester was doing almost the same.

The news that he had murdered Millicent’s parents for nothing kept weighing on his mind. He recalled Millicent’s words, “You murdered an innocent man and his pregnant wife and I shall never forgive you for that!”

The thought of how he had maltreated her when she was a maid, kept replaying in his mind. When he thought about that time, he shuddered at the beast he had been. How could he have been so blinded by rage that he had not cut her any slack?
