Never having experienced such humiliation, Maximilian was furious but couldn't lash out, his eyes red with defiance.
"War God, you can't use public power for personal vengeance!" he yelled.
"Public power? Personal vengeance? What's public power? Bringing troops here to threaten civilians, aiding criminals, and forcing soldiers under your command to follow you?" Matthew retorted powerfully.
Maximilian knew he was losing the argument, and he was just trying to save face.
"What right do I have? As the War God of Sun Flower, I have jurisdiction over and management of all soldiers, including the authority to handle you. Want a trial? Fine, but your actions will be publicized even more widely." Matthew scoffed coldly.
Hubert approached Maximilian, actually feeling pity for his pathetic state: "Maximilian, let's go!" Hubert advised with a mix of command and counsel.
