Chapter 167
After finishing all her work, Thalia packed up her laptop and the documents on the living room table. Her face looked tired, but it was clear there was still lingering resentment that hadn’t completely faded.
“Samon, please take me home,” Thalia said flatly as she reached for her bag.
Samon, who had been waiting in the front room, only nodded. “Yes, Miss Thalia. The car is ready.”
Without saying much more, Thalia stepped outside. Inside, she was still boiling with anger. “Damn it! That woman really got on my nerves. Just one day in this house feels like hell.” But outwardly, she kept her face composed.
In the master bedroom upstairs, Elena sat on the edge of the bed, then reached for her phone.
“Olivia?” Elena’s voice was gentle as the call connected.
“Mommy!” Olivia’s voice instantly warmed Elena’s heart.
“When are you coming home, sweetheart? Mommy misses you so much.” Elena held back the loneliness that had been weighing on her.
