“Elias, I think we should work with them to bring Richard down.”

The words hit me like a punch to the gut. I could hardly believe what I’d just heard. First Thomas’s betrayal, and now Maya suggesting we team up with our enemies? It felt like the world was twisting under my feet. “D—Maya… that’s…” I trailed off, unable to find my voice.
