Elias’s POV
“Ugh, I hate boats.” Maya laughed as she shrugged off her coat. “Well, they’re still better than planes—for me, at least.” “Babe, given everything you’ve been through…that’s pretty dark.” “Just stating facts. Anyway, he should be greeting us any minute.”
After Adrian’s frantic call, he’d sent us detailed directions to this island. We flew by jet to Maui, then took a boat to this secret spot. I’ll admit I was still on edge—especially after finding out what Adrian did. And as if that weren’t enough, he’d brought us here to a resort he built in Maya’s memory, back when everyone thought she was dead.
It was much smaller than I’d expected. A secluded beach house masquerading as a resort. It was undeniably luxurious and fully furnished, but it looked like no one had deep-cleaned it in years—only a quick, superficial sweep for guests.
