Maya’s POV

The moment I discovered he was a spy—one who had killed for his cause—my entire world shifted, and yet, deep down, I could never fully convince myself that everything we’d gone through together had been a complete lie. Somehow, despite it all, he remained someone I believed I might trust.

“I should get going,” I said, stifling a yawn as I rose to my feet. “We’ve still got that big escape planned for tomorrow.” Stretching lightly, I headed toward the front door of the safehouse.
