Anita’s POV
“Yes, I would like to use the restroom, please,” I lied while playing along with Sonia.
Does she, by any chance, know who I might be? I asked myself.
Nope, it was a mask party; there was no way.
She ushered me out of the huge dining room, and we walked across the hallway.
It was silent for the first 10 seconds.
“It must be really nice being with my brother; although he is annoying, he can be very loving. He learned that from our mother,” Sonia revealed.
It makes me wonder how loving their mother was.
“We are just friends. There’s nothing much,” I replied, trying to keep my speech composed.
“Hmm…”
We entered the room, and she stepped in first. She closed the door behind her and switched on the light.
It was, of course, one of the rooms in Damien’s multimillionaire mansion.
“Friends, huh?” she echoed through the dimly lit room.
I swallowed hard.
