He let his wolf take over and shifted. Mike ran until it was completely dark outside and he lost track of the hours and minutes that had passed by.
Of all the ways things could go wrong, they had failed in the worst. Flynn was dead. Killian knew he was undercover.
Besides that, Killian had most likely seen his wolf once Mike shifted.
“And here I was, thinking I wanted to show him my wolf one day.”
“Not like this. And yet…”
It was only going to get worse from here on and Mike felt powerless.
“We’ll figure it out.” his wolf said, “He’s our mate.”
“It is not over.” His wolf kept saying, and for the first time, Mike wanted to believe him and not argue with what he was saying.
The sky was a starless and endless pit above by the time he felt his body heavier and tired.
